Downtown St Petersburg
Downtown St Pete has grown up in the last decade. I remember downtown St Pete 15 years ago and it wasn’t the city it is now. Downtown has turned into a melting pot of hip restaurants, aspiring artists, vibrant night life and of course beautiful St Petersburg real estate. Downtown comprises mostly of high rise condos but if you look north, south and west there are neighboring communities like the Old Northeast, the Old Southeast, and areas like Euclid and Crescent Lake to the west that offer a mixture of historic St Petersburg homes and condos for sale.
Downtown St Petersburg has become quite the cosmopolitan city. The city has some of the finest restaurants in the entire Tampa Bay area. The Sun Dial which is at the heart of downtown hosts high end restaurants such as Sea Salt and Ruth Chris. These are some of the finest dining establishments you can find in downtown. If you prefer to cook your own meals in your new St Pete Condo then head over to the Locale Market which is also in the Sun Dial. The market has some of the finest fish and meats you can buy. In addition, the market has an upstairs restaurant that serves up delicious bites and serves wine and craft beers as well.
If it’s fine arts that you fancy then museums like the Dali and the Fine Arts should be on your list of must do’s. The Dali is world renowned but the Fine Arts museum is not to be missed either. They have some of the finest works in the world and they regularly host special events.
Looking for sporting events? The city is host to the Tampa Bay Rays and the Rowdies, a professional soccer team that is extremely exciting to watch and cheer for. The Rays are a major league baseball team and the field is easily accessible by foot, bike or Uber. The dome is air conditioned so don’t worry about the sweltering Florida heat.
Thirsty or hungry? Downtown St Pete has so many bars and restaurants to choose from, so you won’t have a hard time finding out where to go a on a Friday night. Some of the more popular go to places are Central Ave which hosts First Friday and Beach Drive which has some hip restaurants and outdoor dining. The Canopy and its roof top bar are not to be missed. Take the elevator to the top and experience jaw dropping views while you watch the sunset. It’s an amazing spot and I highly recommend it.
Craft beers anyone? St Petersburg has quietly turned into a beer lover’s destination. Many of the below mentioned breweries have tasting rooms along with live music, arcade games and other various games to keep busy such as bags, shuffle board and giant Jenga. It’s definitely a good time. Some of our favorites are Three Daughters, Cycle Brewing, Cage Brewing, Pinellas Ale Works, and St Pete Brewing. You can spend an entire day hopping around craft beer breweries. Just make sure stay safe and take a cab or Uber.:)
